NIC coming to Faisalabad

According to and RFP (Ignite/NICF/2021/22/0032/PROC) published in newspapers, Ignite has invited proposals from qualified licensed/ registered and well reputed entities for “Provision of Services to establish and manage National Incubation Center Faisalabad”.

Ignite is incorporated with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, under Section 42 of then applicable Companies Ordinance, 1984 (repealed by the Companies Act, 2017), by the Ministry of IT & Telecom, Government of Pakistan. Ignite funds startups and innovative projects that utilize fourth industrial wave tech to solve local problems and target global opportunities in health, energy, agriculture, telecom, finance and other verticals.

Ignite funds the startups through the NICs who are working to solve local problems and also target global opportunities in telecom, healthtech, edutech, agritech, energy and fintech etc. According to RFP, October 21, 2021 is the last date for the submission of proposals and they will be opened on same day at 15:30 Hours in presence of bidding companies and their representatives.

According to sources, there are few very strong candidates who are seeking to participate in this bid to establish an NIC under Ignite – National Technology Fund, including existing NIC operators like Jazz/Teamup, LUMS and LMKT who are already operating  NICs at Peshawer, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta. Strong collaborations with Faisalabad based entities are also expected for this project.

NIC  Faisalabad (By Ignite- National Technology Fund) will be a great edition to Faisalabad’s entrepreneurial landscape after recent arrival of Plan9 Regional (by PITB) at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. We hope to see some great outcomes from the upcoming NIC Faisalabad.
